Ron and Debbie went up to their room, and when they opened the door, the room lights were back on. They both started looking around the room, and that’s when Debbie happened to notice that a shirt she had hung up when arriving was now folded and lying on the side of the jacuzzi tub and that her makeup had been moved around, with the cap being left off her bottle of perfume. It seemed as if the young woman in the mirror was curious about Debbie’s makeup and clothes, so Debbie said out loud, “I don’t care if you look at my things, just put the cap back on my perfume bottle so it doesn’t spill, OK?”

Ron and Debbie looked at each other and sort of giggled a little at Debbie’s request because it all seemed so surreal to them at the time. The rest of their stay was rather uneventful until the night before their departure. As Debbie went about gathering stuff up and repacking so they could leave the next morning, she noticed that her bottle of perfume had been moved again. It was now sitting on the edge of the jacuzzi tub, with the cap on this time, and not on the counter where she had left it. She asked Ron if he had moved it, which he denied, so she decided to just leave it there on the edge of the tub. As she finished organizing her things to make it easier to pack in the morning, she sort of absent-mindedly said out loud, “I know you like my perfume. If you like, I would be happy to leave it here for you. I won’t need it in the morning, so feel free to go ahead and take it tonight if you want it.” A short time later, they retired for the night.

When they got up the next morning, the first thing they did was to look and see if the perfume bottle was still there. Sometime in the night, it had disappeared, as it was nowhere to be found as they finished packing. Ron took everything down to their car while Debbie gave the room a quick inspection to make sure they weren’t forgetting anything. When she walked into the bathroom, she looked in the mirror and saw the young woman standing there as before. Debbie looked at her and said that she hoped she enjoyed the perfume. The young woman smiled the same sweet, sad smile, raised her hand as if saying goodbye and then faded from sight again.

Both Debbie and Ron told me that they felt kind of sad about leaving her there, that she almost seemed lonely. They both still thought about her from time to time, especially Debbie. Every time she opened up a bottle of perfume or saw it sitting on the bathroom counter, she would look in the mirror, almost expecting to see the young woman standing there. Both stated as well that they never felt threatened or
